A small and humble party dedicated to Pet Nats. Vova and Mykola, forces combined.
Why would anyone buy a bottle of ancestrale bubbles for $250? Is it connected to a toy cicada glued to the bottle? After a few days of hard thinking, I figured this out. Vova desperately wanted to taste Valentina Passalacqua Calcarius Frecciabomb Bianco NV, Carolina Gatti Ratatuja 2019, Costadilà 280 slm NV and a few other ancestrale bubbles. But drinking all these bottles alone in one evening is not socially acceptable, so he was looking for convives. And here comes the aforementioned toy cicada - this is how he lured us all.
Mykola explained that not all ancestral bubbles are Pet Nats, as they differ in the method. It's hard to find a more sweet person than me, so I didn't argue. Without further ado, meet our rural bubbles. And please, don't imagine how drunk we were.

Very simple wine. Lime, blossoms and white cherry. A bit herbaceous. Fresh, zesty. Just a filler, a background wine. To sip while you play Xenoblade 2.
Costadilà 280 slm NV
This wine secured the 🏅 6th place in our wine tasting lineup.
Wet chalk, lemon curd, elderflower, dill, VA. The bouquet is nice. This wine has concentrated all its power into 1 second of gustatory attack (figured out how to make this statement not vulgar). Not complex, just a nice morning drink that doesn't stick with you for the whole day.

Hands down, it is arguably the best ancestrale I have ever tasted. And it even can compete with serious bubbles. So let's call Cicala annoying for its price (hehe, annoying Cicala; you get it, right?) and vinous for its qualities.
Honey, spoiled apricot, curry, Mivina spices, soap, potato chips, tropical fruits. Complex, generous and persistent. Fresh and a bit salty in the finish. I absolutely love the iodine touch.

Delicate, easy and delicious. Not complex, but it charms me with notes of white peach, pear candy, estragon and tilia honey.

Consistently delicious bubbles. Aye, it's a bit sweet. But combined with good acidity, it makes a friendly wine to drink with or without food. Easy to understand and easy to enjoy.

There is little to talk about. It's just a 'table' sparkling. Rubber, yellow plums and iodine. Not complex and not memorable (except for the name). At least it was a magnum, and it's always exciting to open a bigger bottle.

Something is wrong here. Pet Nat Rosé is a mors in disguise. But not your regular mors. It's the mors that lost all dignity. Super simple with no aftertaste.

A red sparkling wine. And that means a neat combination of tannin and bubbles. Seriously, this must become a trend. Cherry, red plum and red flowers. Juicy and delicious. Not complex, but it's a rural bubbles party, so bug off.
